Accumulation of cesium-137 Leccinum aurantiacum from podzolic soil
نویسندگان
چکیده
The accumulation of cesium-137 by the cap and stalk fruiting bodies Leccinum aurantiacum (Bull.) Gray from podzolic soil an aspen forest 30-35 years old was compared with spruce undergrowth, which resumes after felling damage to litter. average specific activity caesium-137 for dry caps is 1589±85 Bq/kg stems 879±72 Bq/kg. It has been established that does not exceed allowable values. coefficients parts vary in following range: 5.4 6.8, legs 1.2 2.8. maximum found litter 461±54 With increasing depth, it naturally decreases.

Background: The aim of this study was to measure137Cs levels in soil and brick samples to set the baseline data and an indicator of fallout radioactivity for this part of the world. This study will help to probe, if there is any health threat posed by 137Cs exposure to the residents of the area. Materials and Methods: Twenty five samples of soil and 6 samples of bricks were collected from diffe...
متن کاملApplication of Radioactive Fallout Cesium-137 for Measuring Soil Erosion and Sediment Accumulation Rates and Patterns: A Review
Radioactive fallout 137CS (cesium-137) deposited across the landscape from atmospheric nuclear tests is strongly absorbed on soil particles limiting its movement by chemical and biological processes. Most 137CS movement in the environment is by physical processes; therefore, 137CS is a unique tracer for studying erosion and sedimentation. Cesium-137 loss from a watershed has been shown to corre...

متن کامل01.09 Radioactivity in Soils (Cesium-134 and Cesium-137) (Edition 1992)
The reactor accident at Chernobyl on 26 April 1986 dramatically demonstrated the dangers involved in man-made radioactivity. The Chernobyl catastrophe was incomparably larger than the reactor accident in Harrisburg, USA in 1979. Chernobyl released enormous amounts of radioactive substances. Wind and weather dynamics transported these substances and deposited them onto the earth as radioactive d...
متن کاملSpatial Variability and Cesium-137 Inventories in Native Forest
With the nuclear fission discovery and development of nuclear weapons in 1940s, artificial radioisotopes were introduced in the environment. This contamination is due to worldwide fallout by superficial nuclear tests realized from early 1950s to late 1970s by USA, former URSS, UK, France and China. One of theses radioisotopes that have been very studied is cesium-137. Cesium-137 has a half-life...
